Clare Men reign supreme


Clare Surf Lifesaving's senior & masters teams competed at the national Surf Lifesaving championships in Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow on 6th September. 


The Mens 'A' team won their beach category & the overall Presidents Trophy for combined pool & beach scores. All members of this team will be representing Ireland in the next 2 weeks at Rescue 2014, the Lifesaving World Championships in Montpellier, France. Team: Dylan Barrett, Colm Fitzgerald, Hugh McMahon, Oisin McGrath, Adam McEvoy, Bernard Cahill.


The women's team had some fantastic results but were narrowly beaten to 2nd place by only 9 points by Donegal. Four of this team will also be representing Ireland at Rescue 2014. Team: Lily Barrett, Roisin Cahill, Ciara Sexton, Katie Shannon, Aoibheann Hogan, Orlaith Martin.

Clare Champions


On Saturday, 15th February 2014, Clare competitors once again showed their determination to remain at the top of Lifesaving competition in Ireland. They came away from the National Pool Championships the 4 trophies...

Boys team (14-16): Rory McEvoy, Hugh McMahon, Marley Haugh, Ryan Shannon;

Girls team(14-16): Lily Barrett, Roisin Cahill, Odette Gleeson, Aoibheann Hogan; Mens team: Bernard Cahill, Colm Fitzgerald, Patrick Hogan, Adan McEvoy, Barry Clancy 

Womens team: Norma Cahill, Katie Shannon, Ciara Gleeson, Ciara Ryan, Ciara Sexton, Caoimhe Gowran. The masters competitors also showed their class with the women (Norma & Sinead) winning their section, and the men (Adrian & Peter) coming second.
